#Uvc driver mac os x download manual
I bought his app, since it did support one of the features I wanted (hardware gain), and I'm about to pop off an email to him about the manual exposure. If my recollection isn't failing me, the exposure is manually adjustable in GUVCView for Linux. What I'd like is to adjust the shutter time to 1/30 or less, to maintain 30 FPS in the evenings. I don't really care about brightness, contrast, saturation or gamma (the hardware already supplies an excellent picture). This would be a great app, if only the exposure slider wasn't greyed out for my camera model. It reconfigures the resolution to one that can sustain 30 FPS (but only in daylight), and the hardware gain is adjustable. Webcam Settings by Mactaris ( ) works with my camera, and other UVC cameras, but seems to take the approach of somehow attaching to the existing UVC device to modify its settings, instead of providing its own device.
I assume that the way you acquire an image stream is the same for all UVC cameras, even if resolutions and color spaces vary somewhat. Unfortunately, the settings disappear once you quit the application, so it's basically useless.

His full application does deal with the image stream, I think, as it displays actual video from the camera, though it might be using some Mac OS X API for that. If anybody knows how I'd begin to add support for this camera to MaCam, I'd really like to have a talk to them.Īha! I suspected that, as I couldn't see any files called "UVC" in your source code. Any old UVC camera viewer seems to work with this camera on Linux, so I wonder if this camera couldn't be supported through a generic UVC sort of driver, where you simply expose whatever parameter is available?

What I do know is that UVC cameras have this standard way of setting parameters and apparently the parameter names and value ranges can be queried from the USB device, and that this sort of parameter is what the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 uses.

I tried comparing Szablewski's interfacing code with drivers from similar cameras in MaCam, but I couldn't find a single word or number that looked alike between the two. I'm not familiar with USB driver programming at all, and I'm new to Objective-C and Cocoa.
